Rules in short
One person starts the game and invites the others. Every question has a number as its answer, such as a length, a weight or a year. Everyone guesses at the same time and in secret. After the reveal the figures stand at their guesses on the number line, with the right answer as a flag between them. After the last question, the most points wins.
Keeping score for a board or card game? All score sheets are under All games.
Common questions
How does the estimation game work?
Each round shows a question with a number as the answer. Everyone enters a guess in secret on their own phone. Then the game reveals all guesses at once on a number line and shows the right answer with its source.
How are points given?
Closest gets 3 points, second 2, third 1. With up to three players only the closest scores. Ties share the place, and a guess that is spot on earns 2 extra points. For questions across many orders of magnitude, the ratio counts instead of the difference.
Does everyone need a phone?
No. One device is enough. Anyone without a phone says their number and the host enters it. Players with a phone join through "Invite players" with a code or QR code, no app and no account needed.
What questions are there?
Questions from 15 categories such as everyday life, animals, history, sports and curiosities, every answer checked with a source. Leave out categories before you start. Once you have played enough games together, the game mixes in questions about your own group.
How long does a game take?
5, 10 or 15 questions, as you like. Ten questions with four people take about a quarter of an hour.
